A few things about us…
We’re based in Eastern North Carolina, but we’re originally from Miami, Florida
The latin blood is strong in us. We eat lots of beans and rice. And yes, we’re loud.
We love to laugh and fool around together. English is our second language—because sarcasm and wit are our first.
We are rough around the edges. You won’t find Mom in a dress with her hair fixed like a Barbie. And Dad is still wearing the same Star Trek shirt from 20 years ago that is now disintegrating.
Although they have the numbers, the Puerto kids have yet to succeed in a mutiny against mom and dad.
We don't even know what social graces are, much less abide by them. You’ll find knees up at the table all the time around here and we are constantly interrupting in conversations.
We don’t do things the way the culture dictates we should. We are committed to surrendering every aspect of our home and our family to Jesus Christ. That means that the way we function as a family looks very different from the status quo.
But the bottom Line?
Although our family may be very different from yours in some ways, here is where we are just the same.
We love our kids and we want to be the kind of parents who go all out and give of our whole selves to see them grow into healthy, strong followers of Christ. And, just like you, every day we make mistakes.
We are not perfect parents.
But, after 24 years of being taught by God how to parent our kids, we have learned a thing or two. And that is what we will share with you through All Out Parenting.
So buckle up, baby. It’s gonna be a ride!
